Summer Must-Reads

Hey guys!

With the current heatwave in Britain, it finally feels like summer has started! So with sunny days and sandy beaches in mind, I thought I’d share with you guys some contemporaries I’m hoping to fill my summer with!

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I’ve heard such great things about this book, so I can’t wait to delve in! (And how awesome is that title?!)

The Manifesto on How to be Interesting by Holly Bournethe manifesto on how to be interesting

I always see this book sitting on my shelf, and think ‘that’ll be my next read‘, but I’m usually distracted by a pretty paranormal/fantasy book. But I’m determined that this is the summer I’ll finally read it!

From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer & Val Thomas

I’ve had this book for ages! It has a pretty similar story to the book above – I always see it on my shelf, and want to read it, but seem to forget about it at the last minute!

Vendetta by Catherine Doyle

I’ve been wanting to read this book for so long! And if I’m remembering correctly, Catherine Doyle is going to be at YALC the day I might be going, so I really want to read it for then! (Are you going to YALC?! Tell me in the comments!)

Severed Heads, Broken Hearts by Robyn Schneider

I started reading this book a very long time ago, and though I really liked the writing, I was very slowly being sucked into a reading slump and, well, the slump won. But I’m super excited to finally read it!

What are you planning on reading this summer? Have you read any of these books?

Thanks!
